  • I believe that it's important to remember the atrocities of the past. From what I've heard (which could be wrong), Ms. Fonda didn't just speak out against the war, she went to Vietnam and did things that she didn't have to do to show her displeasure with the United States government.

  • Another couple of quotes from the article that make the headline seem misleading: The vast majority of desertions happen inside the USA, Robbins says. There is only one known case of desertion in Iraq. Most deserters return within months, without coercion.

  • I think that the call for America to become energy independent is probably one of the most important initiatives that we can take up. Thomas L. Friedman mad this assertion in The World is Flat even though I never expected President Bush to come around to this point of view.
